Public Service Announcement

I now take time out from my packing and preparing to bring you this public service announcement. There is now Marry Your Baby Daddy Day! Yep, it's true, Check out This site. This is one term that I think speaks volumes about our society as a whole and I hate it. He isn't an ex-boyfriend or better and ex-husband, he's My Baby's Daddy. So basically he's some guy that you thought was kinda nice so you slept with him, and 9 months later out popped little Jr. That speaks pretty well for the Baby's Momma. HT Blonde Sagacity

In other news I am packed and ready to roll!

Ready to Roll

I am basically ready to go now. 90 to 95% of my stuff is packed, all the paperwork is done. Now it is hitting home and I am realizing how much I will miss my wife and how much she will miss me. Yes we do need a break from each other but before this the longest I have been gone is about 3 weeks and that was only to Mississippi and we chatted on IM every nite. This will be a longer time but we'll get through it. I am reminded of those who go for a year or longer so I feel fortunate. I also think back to the men who went off to WWII. They had no phone or e-mail, they didn't get 2 weeks mid cycle to come home, they left to do a job and some came back 4 years later. They had mail but it probably took over a month to get there. We have it pretty soft I guess so I certainly can't complain. So I am standing ready to roll and am prepared to go forth and slay the dragons if required. More later, maybe tommorrow or maybe enroute if possible.

The Countdown Continues

The countdown is down to single digits now and I am working on getting things packed and wrapping up the last minute details around the house. I have filled the cabinets w/ food for the time I am away and ensured that the critters also have enough to get by. I am doing some outside chores to prepare for summer as well. So far things are going fairly smoothly w/ some bumps in between. Work is busy as well and I am getting my co-workers up to speed to cover for me while I am away. Should be an interesting trip to say the least. Oooooorah!

Vets 1 Moonbats 0

This past weekend the good guys won one in DC. The moonbats marched on DC w/ disgusting signs, anti-american ideas, and a general disrespect for all that is decent. They planned to deface some of the monuments in the area but they found them protected by an army of Vets and other pro-freedom supporters. A Gathering of Eagles brought all of these folks together to counter the protesters and protect the memories of those who bravely have given their lives for the freedom that garantees the rights of those protestors. Photos can be found Here, but I must warn you that some of them might make you sick. And to the Marine pictured in uniform with the protestors, don't worry pal somebody will recognize your profile and beat your lousy traitor ass!

Army Strong!

Just a short video from my Army brothers. A good video really. We in the AF "Do Something Amazing" and support our strong Army Brothers & Sisters

Less Than 3 Weeks

In less than 3 weeks I will be winging my way east. It's been a difficult couple of weeks but I am getting my stuff ready. Sending back a memory card which was defective, need it to have plenty of music on the plane ride and stop overs. Got a couple books and looking for a couple more. Just the little things to take care of now and to make sure that Vicki has what she needs during my time away.

Thanks to Gazing at the Flag for the comments and well wishes.

Testing to see if I can still e-mail stuff and have it post on my blog. Hopefully this works and it will make it easier to update while I am traveling to The Stan. Less than 25 days togo!

Don't forget to set your clocks forward this weekend!

Stuff & a New Hero

I'll start with a link to SGT Hook's website and a story about PFC Benton and his heroic actions following an automobile accident. This young soldier is what every young man should strive to be. He not only serves his country proudly in the US Army but while traveling he saw an auto accident which appeared to be serious. PFC's actions put him directly in harms way but he very possibly saved at least 2 lives that day.

In other news, I am about 30 days out from my trip to a far off mountainous land. I am working on final preparations and getting things in order here. If anyone reading this has been over to the Stan and can offer any helpful hints on what to pack, what not to pack, etc feel free to comment.

That is all for now, will try and fit in some blogging as I can find time and hopefully will be able to blog while enroute and while there.
